Mastopexy (Breast Lift)
If you feel that your breasts are the size you want but you have lost your youthful shape and firmness, then a mastopexy (breast lift) may be what you want. The breast lift without breast enlargement does not require an implant. All mastopexy procedures have several scars: one around the areola (the dark skin around the nipple) and another down from the areola to the inframammary fold (where the breast meets the upper abdomen).  Some of the older techniques leave a scar that goes from side to side in the breast fold (the three scars form an anchor shape called, understandably, “the anchor incision”). Dr.Viggiano almost always can lift the breast without the need for the side-to-side scar. With only two incisions (the around-the-areola and the down-from-the areola) the scarring is less and forms a lollipop shape (“the lollipop incision”).
