How Does It Work?
A small hand-held wand directs a brisk flow of crystals onto the skin. As the wand is gently passed over the skin, the instrument simultaneously suctions away superficial layers of old skin along with the used crystals.

Recommended Treatments
The procedure is safely performed in the office by an experienced Registered Nurse. For most skin types, a series of six treatments scheduled about a week apart is recommended. This allows time for increased collagen stimulation in the deeper layers of the skin, which gradually restores the skin to a healthier and more youthful condition. The Microdermabrasion equipment has adjustable settings that allow for a gradual increase in the depth of treatments as the skin becomes adjusted to the procedure.

Post Treatment Recovery
Except for some mild redness of the skin, there are usually no other side effects. Unlike more invasive procedures, a lengthy recovery period is unnecessary, so you can return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure. Since the outer layer of skin is shed in the treatment, it is important to protect the new delicate skin from sun exposure.

Maintenance Of Healthy Skin
Once a fresh and glowing appearance is achieved, your results can be maintained with touch-up treatments. For maximum results, additional treatments are scheduled every three to six months. We recommend the use of our skin care products for regular maintenance of healthy skin. When your pigmentation changes or age spots are treated, the use of a bleaching cream can be used to obtain a more even color. Additional skin care products are available for purchase as needed.
