Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)
Perhaps you are a man with what appears to be developed breasts. This is not a rare condition and is seen in otherwise normal healthy men. Generally, the largest part of the fullness is usually just fat. This is referred to as pseudo gynecomastia. If you are overweight, then weight loss can help pseudo gynecomastia but may not remove it entirely. Of course, if you are not overweight, then weight loss is not an option. Fortunately, this fat can be removed by liposuction with only a half inch scars in the areola (the dark skin around the nipple). Once the excess tissue in the breast area is removed, it does not grow back.
It may be that your gynecomastia is characterized by overly developed breast tissue in one or both of your breasts (true gynecomastia) along with excess localized fat. While medically benign, the breast-tissue gynecomastia, like the more common fat-tissue gynecomastia, may cause you significant concern. Unfortunately, you cannot improve the fullness of breast-tissue gynecomastia with diet and exercise programs. The only effective treatment is direct removal of the excess tissue along with liposuction. Generally the incision required is three quarters of an inch in the areola.
