Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)

Perhaps you are a man with what appears to be developed breasts. This is not a rare condition and is seen in otherwise normal healthy men. Fortunately, the largest part of the fullness is usually just fat. This fat can be removed by liposuction with only inch scars in the areola (the dark skin around the nipple). Once the excess tissue is removed, it does not grow back.

It may be that your gynecomastia is characterized by overly developed breast tissue in one or both of your breasts. While medically benign, the breast-tissue gynecomastia, like the more common fat-tissue gynecomastia, may cause you significant concern. Unfortunately, you cannot improve the fullness of breast-tissue gynecomastia with diet and exercise programs. The only effective treatment is removal of the excess tissue through gynecomastia, or breast reduction, surgery.
